At InnovateTechie, your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to everything at innovatetechie.com.
Who we are
InnovateTechie is an independent publisher of guides and tutorials about Claude and AI tooling. We are not affiliated with Anthropic, Google, or any vendor we write about. For the purposes of UK and EU data protection law, InnovateTechie is the data controller for the personal information described here, and you can reach us any time through our contact page.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. If you use the contact form or subscribe to the newsletter, we collect what you submit — typically your name and email address, plus the content of your message.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers and our analytics and advertising partners record technical details of your visit: IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the time and duration of your visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We and our partners use cookies, local storage, and web beacons (also called pixel tags or clear GIFs — tiny invisible images embedded in a page that report back when it loads) to remember your preferences, measure traffic, and deliver and measure advertising. See the two sections below for the detail.
How we use your information
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website.
- To respond to your questions, requests, and feedback.
- To send the newsletter, if you have opted in.
- To understand which articles are useful, so we can write more of what helps.
- To display advertising, and to measure whether those ads were seen and worked.

Advertising and third-party cookies
This site is supported by advertising served by Google AdSense and other third-party vendors. What that means for your data:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Third-party ad networks and exchanges may also place or read cookies and web beacons on your device, and may collect your IP address, device identifiers, and browsing activity, in order to select, deliver, cap, and measure ads. These vendors act under their own privacy policies, not ours.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of personalised advertising by many other vendors at aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, at youronlinechoices.eu. Opting out does not remove advertising — it makes the ads you see less relevant to you.

- UK, EEA, and Switzerland. Where local law requires consent, non-essential advertising and analytics cookies are set only after you consent through the certified consent management notice shown before ads load. You can change or withdraw that consent from that notice at any time, and you can clear cookies in your browser at any point.
- You can also block or delete cookies entirely in your browser settings. Blocking them may affect how parts of the site work.
We do not serve personalised advertising to anyone we know to be under 13, and we do not use sensitive categories — such as health, financial status, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or political affiliation — to target advertising.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used in aggregate: which pages are read, how visitors arrive, and where they leave. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes your IP address for this purpose; we do not use it to identify you personally. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your activity entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, we store your email address and the date you subscribed so we can send you new articles. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address from the list. We do not sell, rent, or share our subscriber list.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone except:
- Service providers who run parts of the site on our behalf — hosting, database, email delivery, analytics, and advertising — and who may only process data to provide that service.
- Advertising partners, as described in the advertising section above.
- Legal requirements — where we are required to disclose information by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Legal bases for processing (UK/EU)
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on: your consent for the newsletter and for non-essential cookies; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the site and in responding to your messages; and legal obligation where we must retain or disclose information by law.
Data retention
We keep contact-form messages for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics and advertising data are retained according to the partner's own retention settings.
International transfers
Our service providers, including Google, may process your information outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers are made under appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- object to or restrict how we process your data;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out;
- lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our contact page and we will respond within the time the law allows.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures — including HTTPS across the whole site — to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to other sites
Our articles link to external sites and tools. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site, the law, or our partners change. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
